God had handed Ezekiel a scroll covered with His words. Now He tells Ezekiel to do something very surprising with it.
Today's Story
God held out the scroll full of His words and said something Ezekiel did not expect: “Eat this scroll. Then go and speak to My people.”
Eat it? Ezekiel opened his mouth, and God gave him the scroll to eat. And guess what it tasted like?
Honey. It was as sweet as honey in his mouth!
That was God's way of showing Ezekiel something wonderful: God's words are good. They go down deep inside you, and they are sweet. Now God's message was not just on paper — it was inside Ezekiel, part of him, ready to share.
Then God gave Ezekiel a new name for his job. “You will be a watchman,” God said. A watchman is a lookout. Long ago, a watchman would stand up high on the city wall and keep watch. If he saw something coming, he would call out so everyone could get ready and stay safe.
God was telling Ezekiel, “Be My lookout. Listen to Me, and tell the people what I say, because I care about keeping them safe.”
And then the bright glory of God rose up again, shining, and Ezekiel was filled with wonder.
