Ezekiel 37 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

God showed Ezekiel one of the most amazing pictures in the whole Bible — a valley full of dry bones, and what God could do with them.

Today's Story

God took Ezekiel to a strange place. It was a wide valley, and it was covered with bones. Dry, white, old bones, scattered everywhere. There was no life there at all. It was the quietest, saddest place you could imagine.

God asked, “Ezekiel, can these bones live again?”

Ezekiel said, “Only You know, God.”

Then God told him to speak to the bones. So Ezekiel did. And all at once — a rattling sound! The bones started moving and clicking together. Bone to bone. Then muscles grew on them. Then soft skin covered them. Soon the whole valley was full of bodies. But they still weren't moving. They needed one more thing. They needed breath.

God said, “Breath, come and fill them!” And a wind blew across the valley. The breath of God went into every single one. And they BREATHED. They stood up on their feet — a huge crowd of living people, as far as Ezekiel could see!

God smiled and said, “See? I can bring life where there was no life. I can fill the saddest place with hope. Nothing is too far gone for me.”
