In this vision, God shows that He knows exactly who loves Him — and He has a special way of keeping them safe.
Today's Story
In Ezekiel's vision, God called for some helpers. One of them was dressed in soft white clothes, and he carried a writing kit — an ink pen and a little case — tucked at his side.
God gave that helper a special job. “Go all through the city,” God said. “Find every person who is sad about the wrong things happening here — everyone whose heart still belongs to Me. Put a mark on their forehead.”
So the man with the writing kit went out. He looked for the people who still loved God, the ones who were grieved that others had walked away. And on each of them, he gently drew a mark.
That mark was like a sign that said, “This one is Mine. Keep this one safe.” A sad and hard time was coming for the city — but the people with the mark were protected. God did not forget a single one of them.
It shows us something wonderful about God. He always knows exactly who belongs to Him. He never loses track of His people, not even one. And the people who love Him are safe in His care.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Have you ever written your name on something so everyone would know it belongs to you — a lunchbox, a backpack, a special toy? God knows exactly who belongs to Him too.
- God told His helper to keep the people who loved Him safe. How does it feel to know God knows your name and watches over you?
- God never forgets even one of His people. Why do you think He cares about each person so much, one by one?
