A letter went to the king asking if the people were really allowed to build. Now we find out what the king said.
Today's Story
The king, whose name was Darius, got the letter. “Did King Cyrus really tell these people to build God's house?” he wondered. “Let's find out!”
So his helpers searched and searched through old, dusty scrolls. And there it was — the very order King Cyrus had written long ago: “Let the house of God be built.” It was all true!
Then King Darius did something wonderful. He sent a message: “Let these people keep building. Do not bother them. In fact, use the king's own money to help pay for it, and give them everything they need.”
So the work went on, and God's messengers kept cheering the people. Stone by stone, day by day, until… it was finished! God's house was built at last.
Oh, what a celebration! The people threw a giant happy party to give the temple back to God. They sang and gave thanks and ate a special meal together. Their hearts were bursting with joy.
God had brought them home, helped them build, and kept every promise. The long, hard journey ended in pure joy.
