Hebrews is a letter that helps God's family love God and love each other, and keep cheering one another on.
Today's Story
Have you ever watched a race where people stand along the side and cheer? “You can do it! Keep going! Don't stop!” Those cheers help the runners run faster and feel braver.
This part of the letter says God's family is supposed to cheer for each other just like that. It says, “Let us think about how we can cheer each other on to love and to do good.”
And here is one big way we do it: by getting together. The letter says we should not stop meeting with God's family. When we gather to sing, to pray, and to hear about Jesus, we help each other keep going. It is so much easier to be brave when we are together!
The letter reminds us we can come to God with happy, sure hearts, because Jesus opened the way. We don't have to be afraid. We can hold on tight to our hope, because God always keeps His promises.
So God's family is a cheering team. We meet together, we love each other, and we say, “Keep going! Jesus is with us!”
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Has anyone ever cheered for you or told you “You can do it”? How did it make you feel?
- Who is someone you could cheer on this week? What kind words could you say to them?
- Why do you think it helps to meet together with God's family instead of being all by ourselves?
