Hebrews is a letter that helps God's family understand how Jesus opened the way for us to come close to God.
Today's Story
Long ago, God's people had a special tent where they came to be near God. Inside the tent was a very special room. It had a thick, heavy curtain in front of it, and almost nobody was allowed to go in. Only one helper could go inside, and only one time each year. It was like a door that stayed shut.
The people brought gifts to say sorry for the wrong things they did. But they had to do it over and over, year after year. The wrongs kept piling up, and the gifts could never quite finish the job.
Then Jesus came. And this letter shares the best news ever: Jesus did what no one else could do. He gave Himself, one time, to wash away every wrong thing — and it worked forever. He never has to do it again.
Because of Jesus, that shut door is wide open! We don't have to stay outside the curtain anymore. We can come close to God ourselves and talk to Him, like running to a daddy who is happy to see you.
And the letter promises Jesus is coming back one day for everyone who is waiting for Him — not to fix wrongs again, but to bring us home.

Talk About It
- Have you ever said sorry to someone? How did it feel after they forgave you?
- A shut door kept people away from God's special room. How does it feel to know Jesus opened the way so we can come close?
- Jesus wipes our wrongs all the way clean, one time, forever. Why is that such happy news?
