This is one of the happiest parts of Hosea. It is the moment God's people decide to turn around and come back to Him — and He runs to meet them.
Today's Story
After all their wandering, God's people had a wonderful idea. The very best idea. They said to each other:
“Come, let us go back to the Lord! Let us return to God!”
They remembered how kind He was. They remembered He could heal what was hurt and fix what was broken. And they knew — deep down — that He would welcome them with open arms.
Then Hosea said the most beautiful thing. He said coming back to God is like waiting for the morning. You know the sun is going to rise. Every single day, without fail, the dark turns to light and the sun peeks over the hills.
“As surely as the sun comes up,” Hosea said, “God will come to us. He is like spring rain that makes the whole world green and growing again.”
And God told them the thing He wanted most. It was not fancy gifts. It was not big shows. What God wanted most was their love — their real, warm, true love — and for them to truly know Him.
That is all He has ever wanted. Your heart. Your hand in His. You, coming home.

- God's people said, “Let us go back to the Lord!” What is one way we can turn toward God when we have had a bad day?
- God said He wants our love most of all — even more than gifts. How can you show God you love Him today?
