Isaiah 12 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

After lots of hard messages, the prophet Isaiah gives the people a happy song to sing. It is all about saying thank You to God.

Today's Story

The prophet Isaiah had been telling the people about a day that was coming - a day when God would make everything right again.

And when that day comes, Isaiah said, you will have a brand-new song to sing. So he taught them the words ahead of time, like a happy tune you already know before the party starts.

The song goes like this. “I will praise You, Lord! You were upset with me, but now You are gentle with me, and You make me feel safe.”

“God is the One who rescues me. I will trust Him and not be afraid. He is my strength. He is my song.”

Then Isaiah painted a picture. He said it would feel like running to a deep, cool well on a hot day and pulling up bucket after bucket of fresh water - and laughing while you do it. That is how good it feels when God saves you.

“Sing to the Lord!” the song says. “Tell everyone the wonderful things He has done. Shout it out loud, because the great God is right here with us!”
