Isaiah 16 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

The message about Moab continues - with a call to give shelter to people in trouble, and a beautiful promise about a kind King who is coming.

Today's Story

The land of Moab was still in trouble, and its people were scared and running, looking for somewhere safe.

So the message through the prophet Isaiah said something kind: open your doors to them. “Be a hiding place for people who are running away. Do not turn them out. Let them stay with you until the danger is over.”

It is like when a friend is frightened and you say, “Quick, come in here with me - you are safe now.” God loves it when we shelter people who need a safe place.

Then Isaiah shared a beautiful promise about the future. One day, he said, there will be a special King. His throne will not be built on bragging or on being mean. It will be built on love. This King will always be fair, and He will be quick - quick to help, quick to do the right thing.

People were waiting and hoping for a King exactly like that: gentle, fair, and full of love. That promise points all the way ahead to Jesus, the kindest King of all.

And even in this sad story, you can feel God's soft heart for Moab - like a quiet tear - because God cares for hurting people everywhere.
