Isaiah 2 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Isaiah saw a beautiful picture of a day that is coming - a day of peace, when people from everywhere come to learn from God.

Today's Story

God showed Isaiah a wonderful day that is still coming. And it looked like this.

Far off, there was a tall mountain with God's house on top. And people from every country in the whole world were walking toward it. They were saying to each other, “Come on! Let's go up the mountain. God will teach us how to live, and we will walk in His ways.”

Nobody had to drag them. They wanted to learn from God.

And on that day, something amazing happened. People stopped fighting. They took their swords - the sharp metal they used for war - and they melted them down and made farm tools instead, to grow food. No more wars. No more learning how to fight. Just peace.

Isaiah looked at his own people and gave them a gentle nudge. He saw that they had started making little things more important than God - things made of gold and wood. So he reminded them: God is the One who is truly big. He is the One worth looking up to.

“Come,” Isaiah said. “Let us walk in the light of the Lord.”

Talk About It

  1. When have you seen people stop fighting and make peace - maybe a friend or a brother or sister? How did it feel when the fighting stopped?
  2. The people in Isaiah's picture wanted to learn from God. What is one thing you would like God to teach you?
  3. God is bigger and better than anything we could make. What are some things people sometimes treat as more important than God?
