God gave the prophet Isaiah a happy song to share - a song about a garden that God loves and takes care of.
Today's Story
God gave Isaiah a song to sing. It was a song about a garden - a beautiful vineyard, full of growing vines.
And in the song, God Himself is the Gardener.
“I am the one who takes care of it,” God said. “I water it all the time. I watch over it day and night, so that no one can harm it.”
Think about that. God doesn't water His garden once and walk away. He waters it again and again, every moment. He doesn't guard it only in the daytime. He watches all night too, when everyone else is fast asleep.
God's people are that garden. He loves them. He keeps them safe. He helps them grow, like a gardener helps tiny vines grow strong until they hang heavy with sweet fruit.
And one day, Isaiah said, the whole world will be filled up with that fruit - good and beautiful, because God grew it Himself.
God is the best Gardener there has ever been. He never gets tired. He never stops watching. He never forgets the things He loves.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Have you ever helped take care of a plant or a garden? What did the plant need to grow?
- God says He watches over His people “day and night” - even while you're sleeping. How does it feel to know God never falls asleep watching over you?
- A gardener helps little vines grow strong and full of fruit. What is one way God is helping you grow?
