Isaiah 32 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Isaiah was a man who carried God's messages to the people. In this one, God shows him a good King who is coming - and a safe place to run to.

Today's Story

The people were scared. A strong enemy army was nearby, and they did not know what to do. They thought about asking another country for help instead of asking God.

So God gave Isaiah a beautiful picture to share with them. “Look!” Isaiah said. “A good King is coming. He will do what is right and fair. He will be kind, every single day.”

Then Isaiah said something wonderful about this King. He said the King would be like a safe hiding place when the wind blows hard. Like a warm cover when a big storm comes. Like cool, fresh water when you are thirsty in the hot desert. Like the shade of a giant rock when the sun is beating down and you are so tired.

Have you ever run inside when it started to rain? Or found shade on a really hot day? That feeling of “ahhh, I'm safe now” - that is what this King is like for everyone who comes to Him.

Isaiah said one more thing. When God pours out His Spirit, dry ground comes alive again. Deserts turn into gardens. And the people get a quiet, settled peace deep inside - a calm that lasts and lasts.
