Isaiah brought God's messages to His people. In this one, the city is in trouble - so the people pray, and God answers in a beautiful way.
Today's Story
Trouble was coming to the city. A powerful enemy had marched up close, and the roads were so dangerous that hardly anyone wanted to travel on them. The people felt small and afraid.
So they did the best thing you can do when you are scared. They prayed. “O Lord, please be kind to us,” they said. “We have been waiting for You. Be our strength every morning. Save us when we are in trouble.”
And God answered them. “Now I will stand up,” the Lord said. “Now everyone will see how great I am.” God would do the rescuing Himself. The people did not have to be big and strong - they just had to trust the One who is.
Then Isaiah told them the most beautiful promise. One day, he said, “your own eyes will see the King in His beauty.” Not a King who shows off with money or weapons - a King so good and so kind that just looking at Him is the best gift of all.
And the people would be forgiven. Every wrong thing, wiped clean. What a happy day that would be.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- Have you ever been somewhere that felt a little scary - the dark, a big crowd, a new place? What did you do?
- The people prayed and asked God to be their strength every morning. What is one thing you could ask God for help with first thing tomorrow?
- Isaiah promised that one day we will see the King and how wonderful He is. What do you think it will be like to see Jesus with your own eyes?
