Isaiah carried God's messages to the people. This one is a serious message: God sees every wrong thing - and one day He will make everything right.
Today's Story
Have you ever seen someone be really mean to someone else - and the mean person never said sorry, and it just did not seem fair? Maybe you wondered, “Does anybody even see this?”
God sees. He sees everything.
In this chapter, Isaiah gave the people a serious message from God. There was a country that had been proud and cruel for a very, very long time. They hurt others and laughed about it, and they never said sorry. Isaiah said God had been keeping track. One day, God would step in and stop all of it.
This is a hard part of the Bible, but it is here for a good reason. It tells us something important: God is fair. He is not okay with cruelty and meanness going on forever. He is strong enough to fix what is broken, and one day He will.
At the very end, Isaiah pointed everyone to God's book and said, in effect, “Everything God says will come true. You can count on it.” And the very next thing God had to say was a happy promise - about deserts blooming and sad people singing. The best was still coming.
A Big Word
Talk About It
- Has something ever felt “not fair” to you? How did that make you feel?
- It can feel good to know that God sees everything and cares about what is right. Why do you think it helps to know God is fair?
- God promised that a happy day is coming when He makes everything right. What is one sad or broken thing you hope God will fix one day?
