Isaiah 41 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

God says four little words in this chapter that can change a whole scary day: “I am with you.”

Today's Story

God's people were feeling small and afraid. They wondered if they were all alone. So God spoke to them like a strong, loving parent kneeling down to a worried child.

“Do not be afraid,” God said. “I am with you. Do not be scared, because I am your God.”

Then He made the kindest promises. “I will make you strong. I will help you. I will hold you up with My strong right hand.”

Have you ever crossed a busy street holding a grown-up's hand? You feel safe because they've got you. That's what God was saying. “I've got you. I am holding your hand. Don't be afraid.”

God even called His people “My friends.” He told them, “I chose you. I have not forgotten you. I will never let go.”

So when things feel scary or too big, we can remember what God said: He is with us, He is holding us up, and He is not going anywhere.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. What is one thing that feels a little scary to you? God says, “I am with you” right in the middle of it.
  2. God said He holds us up with His strong right hand. When has holding someone's hand made you feel safe?
  3. God called His people His friends and said, “I will never let go.” How does it feel to know God will never let go of you?
