For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up
God says four little words in this chapter that can change a whole scary day: “I am with you.”
Today's Story
God's people were feeling small and afraid. They wondered if they were all alone. So God spoke to them like a strong, loving parent kneeling down to a worried child.
“Do not be afraid,” God said. “I am with you. Do not be scared, because I am your God.”
Then He made the kindest promises. “I will make you strong. I will help you. I will hold you up with My strong right hand.”
Have you ever crossed a busy street holding a grown-up's hand? You feel safe because they've got you. That's what God was saying. “I've got you. I am holding your hand. Don't be afraid.”
God even called His people “My friends.” He told them, “I chose you. I have not forgotten you. I will never let go.”
So when things feel scary or too big, we can remember what God said: He is with us, He is holding us up, and He is not going anywhere.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- What is one thing that feels a little scary to you? God says, “I am with you” right in the middle of it.
- God said He holds us up with His strong right hand. When has holding someone's hand made you feel safe?
- God called His people His friends and said, “I will never let go.” How does it feel to know God will never let go of you?
