Jeremiah 12 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Sometimes Jeremiah had big questions for God. In this chapter he asks one out loud — and God listens.

Today's Story

Jeremiah was having a hard day. He looked around and felt confused. He went straight to God and asked Him about it.

“God,” he said, “I know You are always good and always fair. But I don't understand. Why do people who do wrong seem to be doing just fine? It doesn't feel right to me.”

Notice what Jeremiah did. He didn't pretend everything was okay. He didn't hide his feelings. He brought his honest question right to God, like talking to a Father who loves him.

And God listened. God answered Jeremiah kindly. He reminded him, “I see everything. I know exactly what is happening, and I am going to make things right in the end. Keep trusting Me, even on the hard days.”

Then God made a wonderful promise. He said that one day He would gather His people back and have tender care for them again, like a gardener planting seeds in good soil. Even when things looked sad, God was already planning something good.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. Is there a question about life that has felt confusing to you? What is it?
  2. Jeremiah told God exactly how he was feeling. Why do you think it's okay to be honest with God, even when we're upset?
  3. God promised to make things right one day. How does it help to know God is always working on a good ending, even when today feels hard?
