When trouble came, Jeremiah did the best thing anyone can do. He prayed — not just for himself, but for everyone around him.
Today's Story
A hard time came to the land. For a long while, no rain fell from the sky. The ground grew dry and dusty, and the people were thirsty. Everyone was worried.
What did Jeremiah do? He went straight to God. He didn't grumble or give up. He prayed.
And he didn't only pray for himself. Jeremiah prayed for ALL the people. He said, “God, we need You. We have made mistakes, but please don't leave us. You are our only hope. You are right here with us. Please help us.”
Jeremiah knew something true. When you are in trouble, the very best place to run is to God. He is the one who sends the rain. He is the one who can help when no one else can.
So Jeremiah kept on praying, holding his whole hurting town up to God, trusting that God heard every word. And God did hear. God always hears the prayers of people who call out to Him.
