Even brave helpers get tired sometimes. In this chapter, Jeremiah is worn out — and he tells God all about it.
Today's Story
Being God's messenger was a hard job. Jeremiah kept telling people the truth, but many of them were not kind to him. Day after day, it wore him out.
So Jeremiah did what he always did. He told God how he felt. “God,” he said, “this is hard. I feel tired and lonely. Sometimes I want to give up.”
Then he remembered something wonderful. He said, “When I found Your words, I gobbled them up like the most delicious food. Your words made my sad heart happy again!” God's words were like a warm meal for a tired heart.
And God answered Jeremiah with a beautiful promise. He said, “I am with you. I will keep you safe. I will make you strong, like a tall, strong wall that nothing can knock down. Don't be afraid — I am right here, and I will help you.”
Jeremiah breathed easier. He was still tired, but he was not alone. God was with him, holding him up and making him brave for one more day.
