Jeremiah 31 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

After many sad days, God gives His people a happy promise. He tells them how much He loves them — and that His love will never, ever run out.

Today's Story

God's people had been through a hard, sad time. They were tired and far from home, and some of them wondered if God still cared about them at all.

So God spoke to them. But this time His words were soft and warm, like a hug.

“I love you,” God said. “I have loved you with a love that lasts forever. I have not stopped, and I never will.”

Then God painted them a beautiful picture of what was coming. He said, “One day you will dance again. You will sing and laugh. The sad days will turn into glad days. I will wipe the tears off your faces, and I will bring you home.”

God promised something brand new, too. He said, “I will put My ways right inside you. I will write them on your hearts, so knowing Me will be as close as your own heartbeat.”

The people who felt forgotten heard the truth: they were not forgotten at all. God loved them with a love bigger than the sky and longer than time. And that love was never going to end.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. God said His love lasts forever. Can you think of anything that lasts forever? How is God's love different from things that run out or wear out?
  2. God promised to turn the sad days into glad days. When is a time something hard turned into something happy for you?
  3. God said He would wipe away the tears. Who do you go to when you are sad? How does it feel to know God wants to comfort you too?
