Job 24 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

In Job 24, Job tells God honestly about the unfair things he sees in the world. It is okay to bring our hardest questions to God, just like Job did.

Today's Story

Job looked at the world around him, and some of it made him sad. He saw people who did not have enough food. He saw people being treated unfairly while others looked away.

It bothered Job. It did not seem right. So he did the bravest thing — he told God all about it. “Why does this happen, God?” Job asked. “Why does it sometimes feel like the people who do wrong get away with it?”

Job was not being rude. He was being honest. And here is the wonderful thing: God is big enough for our hardest questions. We never have to hide our sad or angry feelings from Him. We can bring them all and lay them right at His feet.

God sees every single thing that happens, even the things people try to hide. Nothing slips past Him. He cares about everyone who is hurting, and one day He will make every unfair thing right.

And while we wait for that day, we get to help — by being kind, by sharing, and by sticking up for people who need a friend.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever seen something that did not seem fair? How did it make you feel?
  2. Job told God exactly how he felt. Did you know you can tell God your sad or upset feelings too? What would you want to tell Him?
  3. God sees everyone who is hurting and wants us to help. What is one kind thing you could do this week for someone who needs a friend?
