Job has been feeling like God is far away and silent. In Job 33, young Elihu speaks gently to Job to help him see something hopeful.
Today's Story
Elihu turned to Job and spoke in a kind, gentle voice.
“Job,” he said, “I'm just a person like you. You don't have to be afraid of me. I want to help.”
“You feel like God isn't answering you,” Elihu said. “But here is something true: God is always talking. We just don't always notice.”
“Sometimes God speaks in a dream while you sleep,” Elihu said. “Sometimes He whispers a quiet warning to keep you safe. Sometimes He sends someone kind to remind you what is true.”
“God isn't too busy for you,” Elihu said. “He does these things because He loves people and wants to help them.”
Job listened. Maybe God was closer than he had felt. Maybe God had never stopped caring at all.

Talk About It
- Have you ever felt like no one was listening to you? How did that feel? Elihu says God always hears.
- Elihu said God speaks in quiet ways — through a dream, a gentle warning, a kind person. What is one quiet way you could notice God this week?
- Why is it good news that God is never too busy for you?
