God reminds Joshua there's still work to do — and shows us the very best treasure of all.
Today's Story
Joshua was now very old. God came to him and said, “Joshua, you have grown old, and there is still much land to be received. But don't worry — I myself will give it to My people. Now it's time to divide up the land, so each family and tribe has their very own home.”
So God began giving each tribe their own special part of the land, like a wonderful gift passed down to them — their “inheritance.” Every family would have a place to belong, a home God had given them.
But one special tribe, the Levites (the ones who served God at His holy tent), didn't get a piece of land like the others. Why? Because God gave them something even better. The Bible says the Lord HIMSELF was their inheritance! God was their special gift and treasure.
Imagine that: more than any land, house, or treasure, the very BEST gift anyone can have is God Himself. When we have God, we have the greatest treasure in the whole world.

Talk About It
- God gave each family their own home. How does it feel that God wants you to have a place to belong?
- The Levites' best gift was GOD HIMSELF. Why is having God better than any treasure?
- God said, “I myself will give it.” How does it help to know God personally takes care of us?
