A long time ago, God made a promise to Joseph's family — and now, generations later, He keeps it.
Today's Story
As the land kept being divided, it was time for the family of Joseph to receive their part. Do you remember Joseph? He was the boy with the colorful coat, who was sold away by his brothers, yet trusted God through everything. God blessed Joseph, and he saved his whole family from starving.
That was hundreds of years before this moment. Joseph had long since gone to be with God. But Joseph's children, and their children, and THEIR children had grown into big tribes of God's people. And now, God was giving Joseph's descendants their own land — a home of their very own in the Promised Land.
Think about it: God remembered the promise He had made so many years before, and He kept it for Joseph's great-great-great-grandchildren! God's promises don't have an expiration date. He keeps them across years, across grandparents and parents and children, never forgetting.
The same God who kept His promise to Joseph's family keeps His promises to us, and to our children, and to all who come after. God never forgets.
