Judges 5 for Kids

After God's great victory, Deborah does what we should always do when God helps us: she sings His praises!

Today's Story

Do you remember how God gave Deborah and the people a great victory over a powerful enemy? Well, after the victory, Deborah was SO thankful that she burst into a song of praise to God! She and Barak sang it together for everyone to hear.

In her song, Deborah didn't brag about herself or the army. Instead, she gave ALL the praise to God! “Praise the Lord!” she sang. She remembered how God had fought for them, how He had given the victory, and how He had rescued His people. Even the stars and the rivers seemed to join in praising God!

Deborah's song was full of joy and thankfulness. She wanted everyone to remember that it was GOD who saved them, and to give Him all the glory and praise.

That's a wonderful thing to do! When God helps us, blesses us, or answers our prayers, we should stop and praise Him — with songs, with thankful words, with joyful hearts. After God's goodness comes our praise!
