God teaches His people something very important — that life is a precious gift, and it belongs to Him.
Today's Story
God wanted His people to remember something wonderful: every living thing is alive because God gave it life. Your heartbeat, your breath, the wiggle of a puppy, the flutter of a bird — all of it is a gift that comes from God.
Because life is such a special gift, God told His people to treat it as precious and holy. They were never to be careless with a life. Life was not a little thing to throw away — it was a treasure that came straight from God.
God also told the people to bring everything to Him and not to wander off to make up their own kind of worship. He wanted them to come to Him, the one true God who gives life, and to thank Him for it.
It all pointed to one big idea: life belongs to God. He is the one who gives it, He is the one who cares for it, and He is the one we say thank You to for it.
What a gift it is just to be alive — and it all comes from Him.
