God cares how we treat each other. And He taught His helpers to keep a special fire burning all the time.
Today's Story
God taught His people something important: saying sorry to Him is good, but if you have hurt another person, you must make it right with THEM too.
God said, “If you took something that wasn't yours, or tricked your neighbor, give it back. And give a little extra, to show you really mean it.” God wanted His people to treat each other with honesty and kindness, not just say nice words.
Then God taught His helpers, the priests, about a special fire on the altar in His tent. He told them, “Keep this fire burning. Do not let it go out.” Day and night, morning and evening, someone added wood so the warm flame never died down.
That fire was a picture for everyone to see. It said: God is always here. His love does not flicker out at night or take a day off. It keeps burning, steady and warm, all the time.
God cares how we treat each other — and His love for us never, ever goes out.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Have you ever broken or taken something that wasn't yours? What would it look like to make it right, not just say sorry?
- The fire never went out — not even at night. How does it feel to know God's love for you never goes out either?
- Who is someone you might need to make things right with this week? What is one kind thing you could do for them?
