God kept teaching His people how to bring their gifts to Him — and one of those gifts ended in a happy meal to say thank You.
Today's Story
God was teaching His people, the Israelites, how to bring their gifts to Him. There were many kinds of gifts. Some said “I'm sorry.” Some said “thank You.” God cared about each one, and He showed His people exactly how to bring them.
One special gift was called the friendship offering. When something wonderful happened — a new baby, a safe trip home, a prayer that God answered — a family would bring this gift to say thank You to God.
And here is the happy part. After they gave their gift, the family didn't go home hungry. They had a feast! They sat down together and ate good food, right there near God's tent. It was a thank-you party.
God told them to bring fresh bread along with it, “to give thanks.” So the table was full, and everyone was glad, because God is good and worth saying thank You to.
