Leviticus 9 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

After all the getting ready, today is the very first day Aaron does his job — and God does something wonderful the people will never forget.

Today's Story

It was the first day of work for Aaron and his sons. Moses said, “Today the Lord is going to appear to you.” The people were buzzing with wonder. What would happen?

All the Israelites gathered close to God's tent. Aaron brought the people's gifts to God, just the way God had said. He did each part carefully, because this was holy and important.

Then Aaron lifted up his hands and blessed the people. And right then, something amazing happened. The bright, shining glory of the Lord appeared so that every single person could see it!

The whole crowd shouted for joy. Then they bowed all the way down with their faces to the ground. God had come close to His people, and it was the happiest, most wonderful thing. They knew for sure: God was really with them.

  1. When was a time you felt so happy you wanted to shout or jump? What made you feel that way?
  2. The people shouted for joy AND bowed down low. Why do you think seeing God made them want to do both?
  3. God came close to His people that day. Where are some places you can feel close to God now?
