On His last night, Jesus shares a special meal with His friends and shows us how to trust God even when things are hard.
Today's Story
It was the night of the Passover meal. Jesus gathered His twelve friends for a special supper. As they ate, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and shared it. “This is My body, given for you,” He said. Then He took the cup and said, “This is My blood, poured out for many, so sins can be forgiven. Remember Me whenever you do this.”
Jesus was getting them ready, because He knew He would soon give His life for them — and for us. (People who love Jesus still share this special meal today to remember Him.)
After supper, Jesus went to a quiet garden called Gethsemane to pray. He knew hard things were coming, and His heart was very sad. He prayed, “My Father, if it's possible, please take this hard cup away. But not what I want — what YOU want. I will obey You.”
Even when it was hard, Jesus trusted His Father and chose to obey, because He loved us so much. He was willing to go through the hard thing to rescue us.

Talk About It
- At the special supper, Jesus said, “Remember Me.” Why is it good to remember what Jesus did for us?
- In the garden, Jesus was sad, but He still trusted His Father. What helps you trust God when things are hard?
- Jesus prayed, “Not what I want, but what You want.” Why is it sometimes hard to want what God wants — and why is it good?
