Micah 2 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Some powerful people were taking things that did not belong to them. God saw it — and He promised to gather His people back together like a shepherd gathering sheep.

Today's Story

There were some people in the land who had a lot of power. But they were not using it to help. At night, instead of sleeping, they lay in bed making plans — plans to grab things that weren't theirs.

In the morning, they did it. They took fields. They took houses. They pushed weaker families right out and kept the good stuff for themselves. It was like a big kid on the playground taking everybody else's snack, just because he was bigger.

God saw all of it. And God said, “That has to stop. These people belong to Me, and I will not let them be treated this way.”

The powerful people didn't even want to hear it. “Stop talking!” they told God's messenger. They only wanted to be told nice, easy things.

But then God gave a beautiful promise. He said, “One day I will bring My people together again. I will gather them like a shepherd gathers his sheep into a safe pen. And I Myself will go out in front, opening the way, leading them like a King.”

The greedy plans would not win. The Shepherd-King would.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever seen someone take something that wasn't theirs, or push someone smaller around? How did it make you feel?
  2. God says taking what belongs to others has to stop. Why do you think fairness matters so much to God?
  3. A shepherd walks out in front of the sheep to lead them somewhere safe. Where might God be leading you?
