Micah 4 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

After all the hard warnings, God shows Micah something wonderful — a day coming when everyone learns God's ways and the whole world is filled with peace.

Today's Story

God had been saying a lot of hard things. But now He opened up the sky and showed Micah a picture of a wonderful day that is coming. And Micah's eyes must have gone wide.

In the picture, God's mountain stood up taller than every other mountain. And people came from everywhere — from every country, speaking every language — all walking toward it. They said to each other, “Come on! Let's go up to God's house, so He can teach us how to live!”

And here was the most amazing part. There was so much peace that people didn't need swords anymore. So they took their swords and hammered them into shovels and tools for the garden. They took their spears and made them into hooks for picking fruit. Nobody trained to fight. Nobody was afraid.

Everyone got to sit under their own grapevine and their own fig tree, safe and happy, with no one to scare them.

God was showing Micah: the sad days would not last forever. One day He will make everything right, and the whole world will be full of peace.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. What is something that scares you or makes you feel un-peaceful? In God's wonderful day, things like that will be gone — how does that feel?
  2. The people turned their swords into garden tools. What do you think it means to turn something that hurts into something that helps?
  3. Everyone in the picture wanted to learn God's ways. What is one thing you would love to learn about God?
