God's people had camped by a big mountain for a long time. Now it was time to start the journey to their new home.
Today's Story
God gave Moses two shiny silver trumpets. They made a bright, clear sound across the whole camp.
The trumpets had a job. One kind of blast meant, “Come together!” Another kind meant, “Time to go! Pack up!” When the people heard the trumpets, they knew just what to do.
Then the big day came. The cloud lifted up off God's tent. The trumpets sounded. And for the very first time, the people pulled up their tents, gathered their animals, and started walking. God was leading them to a brand-new home.
Out in front went the special golden box that reminded everyone God was with them. Every morning, as they set out, Moses called out, “Rise up, Lord! Go in front of us!” And every evening when they stopped, he prayed for God to stay close.
So the people marched, family by family, following God toward the good place He had promised.

Talk About It
- Have you ever gone on a trip somewhere new? What did you bring, and how did you feel before you left?
- The trumpets told the people what to do. What are some sounds that tell you it is time to do something at home or school?
- Moses prayed every morning before the people set out. Why is it a good idea to ask God for help at the start of the day?
