God's people were walking through the desert, and Moses was their leader. But this was a hard day.
Today's Story
The people started to grumble. “We're tired of the same food!” they complained. Every day God sent special bread called manna that appeared like dew on the ground. But the people only wanted to think about what they did not have.
Moses felt worn out and sad. He talked to God honestly. “This is too much for me,” he said. “I cannot take care of all these people by myself!”
God was kind to Moses. He did not say, “Try harder.” He said, “You don't have to do this alone. Bring Me seventy good leaders. I will help them, and they will help you carry the load.”
So God shared His Spirit with the seventy helpers, and now Moses had a whole team beside him. What a relief!
Then God sent the people exactly what they had been asking for: birds called quail, more than they could count, so everyone had plenty to eat. God had heard every word — and He took care of them.
