Numbers 15 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

God gives His people some rules to help them live well — including a clever little way to help them remember Him every single day.

Today's Story

God gave His people some good rules to follow when they finally lived in their new land. He told them how to bring Him gifts to say thank You. And He said something kind: the same rules were for everyone — people born in Israel and visitors from far away too. Everyone belonged. Everyone was welcome.

Then God gave them a special idea. “Sew little threads on the edges of your clothes,” He said, “with one bright blue thread on each corner.”

Why? So that every time they looked down and saw the little blue threads, they would remember. “When you see them,” God said, “you will remember to follow Me, and you will be My own people.”

It was like a tiny string tied around your finger so you won't forget something important. All day long, the little threads said the same happy thing: Remember God. You belong to Him.
