God gives a special job to the family that takes care of His holy tent — and He gives them the best gift of all.
Today's Story
God had a holy tent where the people came to meet with Him. Somebody had to take good care of it — to carry it, set it up, and keep it ready. So God gave that special job to Aaron and his family, and to all the helpers called the Levites.
It was an important job, and a great honor. God said, “You will take care of My holy place. I am giving this work to you as a gift.”
Now, all the other families in Israel got their own piece of land to farm and live on. But the helpers who served God's tent did not get a big piece of land like everyone else.
Why not? Because God gave them something even better. God said to them, “I am your share. I am everything you need.”
Imagine that! Instead of fields and farms, they got God Himself as their special gift. And the people would share their food with them, so they would always have enough. God took wonderful care of the ones who took care of His house.
