God gives His people a special, gentle way to be made clean and fresh again, so they could always come close to Him.
Today's Story
God is perfectly clean and pure, like the freshest, brightest morning. And God wanted His people to be able to come close to Him.
But sometimes things happened that made a person feel not-ready to come near God's holy tent. Maybe they had been near something very sad, like when someone they loved had died. For a little while, they needed to be made clean again before they came close.
So God gave them a kind gift: a special cleansing water. When that water was gently sprinkled on a person, it was a picture that said, You are clean and fresh again. You can come close to God now.
It was a little like coming inside all dusty from playing, and getting washed up so you are clean and cozy and ready for a hug.
God did not want anything to keep His people away from Him. So He made a way for them to always be washed clean — because He loved them and wanted them near.
