Numbers 6 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

In this chapter God gives His people the most beautiful words — a blessing that families have spoken over their children for thousands of years.

Today's Story

God wanted His people to know how much He loved them. So He gave Moses some special words — a blessing — for the leaders to say out loud over the whole family.

A blessing is a kind wish you speak over someone. It is like saying, “I want only good things for you.” And these words came straight from God Himself.

Here is what God told them to say:

“May the Lord bless you and keep you safe. May the Lord smile on you and be kind to you. May the Lord look on you with love and give you peace.”

Can you picture it? God smiling at you, like a parent who is so happy to see their child. God keeping you safe, like strong arms wrapped all around you. God giving you peace, that warm, calm feeling deep inside.

God said, “When you speak My name over them like this, I will bless them.” These were not just nice words. They were a promise of God's love poured out on His people — and that love is for you too.
