God's special tent was finally finished and ready. To celebrate, the leaders of the family brought gifts — lots and lots of gifts!
Today's Story
The big day had come! God's special tent was all set up and ready. It was time to celebrate.
The leaders of the family wanted to give God their best. So they brought gifts — carts and oxen to help carry the heavy tent, and silver bowls and golden spoons filled with good things.
One leader came and gave his gift. The next day, another leader came and gave his gift. Then another, and another. For twelve days in a row, one leader after another brought presents to honor God's house. No one was left out, and no one was rushed.
Why so many gifts? Because every leader wanted to say thank You to God in his own way. They were happy to give. They gave their best, not their leftovers.
And then something wonderful happened. When Moses went into the tent, he heard God speaking to him from inside. God had come to live right there with His people. The gifts were a glad way of saying, “We are so happy You are here!”
A Big Word
Talk About It
- What is the best gift you have ever given to someone? How did it feel to give it?
- The leaders gave God their best, not their leftovers. What is one of YOUR best things you could give or share?
- Besides toys or money, what gifts can we give God? (Think about our words, our songs, our time, and our kindness.)
