In Proverbs 2, King Solomon tells his child where to find the very best treasure of all - wisdom.
Today's Story
Have you ever gone on a treasure hunt? Maybe you followed clues, or dug in the sand, or looked under every couch cushion for a lost coin.
Solomon told his child that wisdom is like buried treasure. He said, “Look for it like silver. Search for it like hidden gold.”
You don't find treasure by sitting still. You have to want it. You have to keep looking. Solomon said to listen carefully to wise words and to keep them safe inside your heart, like a coin in a piggy bank.
But here's the best part. Solomon said you don't have to find this treasure all by yourself. He said to ask God for it - because God is the one who gives wisdom! When you ask, God helps you understand what is right and good and fair.
And wisdom does something wonderful. Like a guard at a gate, it keeps you safe. It helps you stay away from bad choices and walk on the good path instead.
