Proverbs is full of short, wise sayings - little tips that help you live a good and happy life.
Today's Story
Imagine two kids. One has a big, shiny trophy on the shelf but is mean to his little sister all day long. The other has no trophy at all, but she shares her toys, tells the truth, and helps without being asked. Which one would you want to play with?
Proverbs 21 says something surprising: God cares more about doing what is right and fair than about big, fancy gifts. You can't make God happy just by giving Him something shiny if your heart is unkind. What He really loves is when you choose to be honest and good to the people around you.
The chapter also has a funny picture about being grumpy. It says it is better to live up in a tiny corner of the roof - all alone, out in the wind - than in a big cozy house with someone who is always crabby and fighting. Nobody likes living with grumpiness! So this chapter teaches us to be the kind, peaceful person that others are glad to be near.
