Psalms 10 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 10 is a prayer for the times when it feels like God is far away - and it shows us He is closer than we think.

Today's Story

Have you ever felt like God was very far away? Like maybe He couldn't see what was happening to you? The person who wrote Psalm 10 felt exactly like that.

“Lord, why do You stand far off?” he prayed. “Why does it feel like You are hiding when I need You?” Some unkind things were going on, and it seemed like God wasn't doing anything about it. So he told God the truth about how he felt. And guess what - that is okay! God wants us to tell Him everything, even the hard stuff.

But as he prayed, he started to remember what was really true. God was not far away at all. “You do see,” he said. God sees every bit of trouble. Nothing gets past Him. He notices the people that everyone else walks right past.

And he remembered the biggest truth of all: God is the King - not just for a little while, but forever and ever. God is in charge, and He always does what is right in the end.

So the prayer that started out sad ended up strong: God hears people who are hurting, and He helps the ones nobody else will help.
