Psalms 106 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Psalm 106 is a long “remember” song. It looks back at all the times God's people forgot Him - and how God kept loving them anyway.

Today's Story

This song starts with a happy shout: “Give thanks to the Lord! His faithful love continues forever!”

Then the singer does something brave. He remembers all the times God's people forgot how good God was.

God split the sea so they could walk across on dry ground. They cheered! But soon they forgot, and started grumbling.

God gave them food in the desert. They forgot again. They made a little gold statue and bowed to it, like it could help them. It couldn't. Only God could.

Over and over the people wandered off. And over and over, when they cried out, “God, help us!” - God heard. He remembered His promise. He rescued them one more time.

The singer isn't hiding the bad parts. He's showing us something amazing: no matter how many times the people messed up, God's love did not run out. Not once.

So the song ends the way it began - with thank You. “Praise the Lord!”

  1. Have you ever forgotten to say thank You for something good? What was it?
  2. God's people messed up again and again, but He never stopped loving them. How does it feel to know God's love for you never runs out?
  3. What is one good thing God has done for you that you want to remember and thank Him for?
