Psalm 109 is an honest, upset prayer. Someone was being very unkind to King David, and he told God exactly how he felt.
Today's Story
King David was having a really hard day.
Some people were being mean to him. They told lies about him. They said unkind things, even when David had only been kind to them. It hurt his feelings a lot, and it made him angry too.
So what did David do? He did not hit back. He did not tell lies about them. Instead, he went straight to God and let it all out.
“God, this is so unfair!” David prayed. “They are being so unkind, and I am so upset.” He did not hide one bit of how he felt. He knew God could hear his very biggest feelings and still love him.
And then, near the end, David's prayer started to change. “Help me, God,” he said. “You are kind and good. I am going to thank You anyway.”
David handed the whole mess to God. He decided to let God be the one to make things right - instead of getting even himself. And his sad, angry prayer ended with praise.
