Psalms 21 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 21 is the happy song that comes after the asking. God answered the prayer - and now King David is full of joy and wants to say thank You.

Today's Story

Do you remember how the people prayed for their king on his hard day? Well… God answered! Everything turned out alright. And now it was time for a brand-new song - a happy one.

The king was so glad he could hardly hold it in. He sang, “Lord, the king is full of joy because You are strong. You make him so happy!”

The king remembered how scared he had felt. He had asked God for help, and God did not just help a little - God gave him even more than he asked for. He felt safe, he felt loved, and he felt like the luckiest person alive.

And here is the best part: King David did not keep his happy feelings to himself. He turned right around and said thank You to God, loud and glad. “We will sing and praise Your power!”

When God does something good for us, we don't just say, “Phew, that worked out.” We turn around and say, “Thank You, God! You did that!”
