Psalms 25 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Psalm 25 is a song King David sang when he wanted to know the right way to go. It is a prayer asking God to be his guide.

Today's Story

Have you ever been somewhere new and not known which way to go? You need someone who knows the way to show you. That is exactly what King David wanted from God.

David prayed, “Show me Your ways, Lord. Teach me Your paths. Lead me, because You are the God who saves me.” He wanted God to be like a guide, walking ahead and pointing the way.

David also remembered that he had made some mistakes - everybody does. So he prayed something brave: “Please don't remember the wrong things I have done. Remember Your love instead.”

And David knew something wonderful about God. He sang, “The Lord is good. He shows the right way to people who get lost. He gently leads them.” God is patient and kind, like a good teacher who never gives up on you.

So whenever David didn't know what to do, he didn't guess all by himself. He looked up and asked his best Guide, “God, which way should I go?”
