Psalm 53 is a song about people who forget all about God - and about how God leans down from heaven, looking for anyone who wants Him.
Today's Story
King David noticed something sad. Some people lived like God wasn't even there.
They said in their hearts, “There is no God.” So they didn't ask Him for help, they didn't say thank You, and they forgot to be kind. When you forget about God, it's easy to forget how to be good too.
But here is the beautiful part. David says God leans way down from heaven and looks all across the earth. He's looking for something special. He's looking for anyone who is looking for Him.
Picture God leaning down over the whole world, searching every street and every house, hoping to find people who say, “God, I want to know You. I'm looking for You.” And when God finds someone like that, it makes Him glad.
At the end, David sings a happy hope: one day God will rescue His people and there will be a big celebration. God is real, God is good, and God can always be found by anyone who looks for Him.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- When you really want to find something - like a lost toy - how hard do you look? God looks for people that much too. How does that feel?
- What is one way you can “look for God” today? (Praying, reading the Bible, and being kind are all ways.)
- The verse says God is glad when He finds someone searching for Him. What makes you glad about God?
