King David wrote Psalm 59 on a scary night when people were waiting outside his house. Watch how he turns his fear into a morning song.
Today's Story
It was nighttime, and King David could not sleep. People were outside his house in the dark, prowling around like growling dogs, waiting to hurt him.
That is a scary feeling. But David knew exactly who to call. “Save me, my God,” he prayed. “Keep me safe from the people who want to hurt me.”
Then David remembered something strong and tall. “God, You are my fortress,” he said. A fortress is like a giant stone castle with thick walls. Nothing scary can get inside. David felt like he could run right into God and slam the big door shut.
“You are my strength,” David prayed. “I watch for You. You are my safe high tower.”
And here is the best part. By the time the sun came up, David wasn't whispering scared prayers anymore - he was singing! “In the morning I will sing about Your love,” he said, “because You are my safe place.”
The scary night ended. The morning song began. God had been David's strong tower the whole time.
