Psalm 62 is a quiet, calm song. King David learned how to settle his heart and rest, no matter what was happening around him.
Today's Story
Life had been loud and busy for King David. Lots of worries, lots of noise. Maybe your days feel loud and busy sometimes too.
So David did something quiet. He stopped. He got still. And he turned his heart toward God.
“I find my rest in God alone,” David said softly. Not in toys. Not in money. Not in being the biggest or the fastest. Just in God. When David got quiet with God, the worried, wobbly feeling melted away.
“God alone is my rock,” he said. “He keeps me safe. I will never be shaken.” Think of standing on a big, solid rock that can't tip or slide. You feel steady. That is how David felt resting in God.
Then David shared a secret with everyone. “Trust God all the time,” he said. “Tell Him everything in your heart. God is our safe place.”
David found out that the quietest, steadiest place in the whole world is right next to God.
