Psalm 95 is a happy invitation. It says, “Come on - let's sing to God together!” It is a song about how good it feels to thank Him.
Today's Story
Imagine your best friend runs up to you, all excited, and says, “Come on! Come with me! It's going to be so much fun!” That is how this song begins.
The singer can hardly wait. He says, “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord. Let us shout out loud to the Rock who saves us!” He wants everyone to come and thank God together with happy, loud voices.
Why is he so excited? Because of how big and good God is. The singer remembers that God holds the deepest valleys and the tallest mountains in His hand. God made the sea. God scooped out the dry land. The whole world belongs to Him.
Then the song gets quiet and gentle. It says, “Come, let us bow down and worship Him. He is our God. We are the sheep He takes care of.” God made us, and He looks after us like a kind shepherd looks after his sheep.
So there are two ways to thank God in this song. Sometimes we sing loud and happy. And sometimes we get quiet and still. Both are wonderful ways to say, “God, You are so good.”

Talk About It
- What is something that makes you so excited you want to shout about it? This song says God is even better than that!
- The song says we can thank God loud and happy, OR quiet and still. Which one feels more like you today?
- This song calls God a Rock that saves us. What is good about a rock? Why do you think God is like one?
