Jesus keeps writing letters to His friends. In this one, He knocks on the door of our hearts.
Today's Story
Jesus had more letters for John to write. He sent them to more groups of His friends in more towns.
To one group, Jesus said, “Hold on tight to what you know. I am coming back soon, and I am so proud of you for staying close to Me.”
To another group, Jesus said something they really needed to hear. They had gotten sleepy in their hearts. They were forgetting about Jesus. So Jesus said, “Wake up! Remember how much I love you. Come close to Me again.”
Then Jesus said the most wonderful thing. He said, “Look! I am standing at the door, and I am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in.”
Jesus does not push the door open. He waits. He knocks gently and asks to come in, like a good friend who wants to sit and eat with you and be close to you.
And when you open the door of your heart to Jesus, He comes in to stay.
